Mad Dog Graphx Wins Eight in Hermes Creative Awards

Anchorage, AK – Mad Dog Graphx won eight honors in the 2017 Hermes Creative Awards. Their 2015–2016 concert season poster series for Alaska Youth Orchestras and the logo they created for Thrively Digital were each recognized with Platinum Awards.

Their annual report, “New Paths to Our Destination,” for Anchorage Project Access won Gold, and the annual Mad Dog designed for VTDigger, “Celebrating Six Years of Investigative Journalism in Vermont,” won Gold both as an annual and as a pro bono project. A logo for Cultural Alaska and the website for SOUTH Restaurant both won Gold, as well. Finally, an annual report for Food Bank of Alaska received an Honorable Mention.

The Hermes Creative Awards is an international competition for creative professionals involved in the concept, writing, and design of traditional materials and programs, and emerging technologies. The Hermes recognizes outstanding work in the industry while promoting the philanthropic nature of marketing and communication professionals. It is one of the largest design competitions of its kind. The Hermes Creative Awards is administered by the Association of Marketing and Communication Professionals. As part of its mission, AMCP fosters and supports the efforts of creative professionals who contribute their unique talents to public service and charitable organizations.

Michael Ardaiz, Kris Ryan-Clarke, and Aurora Hablett are the creative team behind Mad Dog’s biting edge designs. With offices in Anchorage and Seattle, Mad Dog offers a range of creative and production services, specializing in corporate, retail, and brand identity development, and advertising and marketing design. Mad Dog is currently celebrating its twentieth anniversary.

Growing a Startup

Delaney Thiele, founder and designer at Cloudberry, is partly of Yup’ik and Athabaskan descent, and takes inspiration from her Alaska Native heritage when choosing the materials and patterns for her line of handcrafted beaded earrings.   MORE
